Luxury Auto Manufacturer: R&D Labs and Office Renovation in San Jose, CA

MAI Construction was selected to work with the R&D division of a Luxury Auto Manufacturer on a project broken into three phases to facilitate the client's move into the space in stages. The first phase consisted of new finishes and minor MEP modifications to 49,000 SF of office space and R&D labs. As part of this phase, a new AV system was installed to support conferencing, presentations, and collaborative work within office and lab spaces.

In the second and third phases, we reworked approximately 35,000 SF of indoor vehicle parking and workstation areas. The team added power cord reels and drops, along with a new vehicle exhaust system featuring direct-to-vehicle connections on a movable track. The parking areas were painted with safety striping and fitted with wheel stops. Equipment, vehicle lifts, storage racks, and shelves were installed and securely anchored. A high-speed roll-up door was relocated inside the building. In addition, a custom roll-up door with card reader controls was installed at the exterior. The phased move-in was successfully executed, and the project was completed on schedule.
