Installation of a 1st of its kind custom chamber, chamber was custom designed to meet owners requirements with a temperature range of -90 to 380 Fahrenheit, chamber was designed to fit next generation chassis’ as such can fit a small car. To install the chamber existing chambers had to be removed and existing acoustical room had to be reconfigured. The chamber requires 600A at 480V as well as a custom 1200A -48V DC plant that was custom designed for this project. Extensive investigation and design was required to detail the electrical system. The unit required 90 Tons of cooling to keep the unit cool during testing, MAI had to verify existing capacity via trend analysis to ensure that the new unit would not over tax the process cooling water system. Since no Fire Alarm devices are made to withstand the temperatures present MAI worked with our vendors to develop an alternate method of Fire Sprinkler activation that was accepted by the city that would allow for the use of a Fire Sprinkler system as required by code.
